To commemorate the Day of Ashura, Jaffery Medical Centre organized a Blood Donation Day on 09th Muharram, 10th November 2014 in conjunction with the National Blood Transfusion Services. Logistics were provided by IYMU and IYLU supported by Jaffery Medical staff.
A total of 114 pints of blood were collected, with the majority being women from our community who donated 79 pints and men donated 35 pints of blood. Amongst the men, there were 14 who came from the neighborhood in the Old Town and the rest from the community. Since the National Blood Bank is perpetually short of blood, this gesture by Jaffery Medical Centre and the Community at large was well appreciated by the National Blood Transfusion Services.
Jaffery Medical Centre takes this opportunity to thank all the volunteers who assisted in this noble cause.
